Trailer release: Wes Anderson and D.W. Young team up for James Hamilton doc “Uncropped” (Greenwich Ent.)

The trailer for “Uncropped” a documentary about famed NYC photographer James Hamilton was released this Friday.

Directed by D.W. Young and executive produced by Wes Anderson, this film chronicles the cultural impact of Hamilton’s work across the decades as he captured some of the most iconic pop culture photos and portraits of our time. A strong influence on Anderson’s visual style, Hamilton has even made cameos in several of his films Including “The Life Aquatic” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel.”

I’m a huge Wes Anderson fan so it was very exciting for me to be asked to music supervise this movie nearly a year ago. I also grew up with a father who was a professional photographer and I music supervised the Robert Mapplethorpe biopic “MAPPLETHORPE” by Ondi Timoner a few years ago so I felt particularly well suited for this.

“Uncropped” had its premiere in December as the centerpiece film at DOC NYC and it will be coming to commercial theaters this April via Greenwich Entertainment; and then to Apple and Amazon for streaming in May.
